Die Debatte um eine zu enge Verbindung von Journalisten deutscher Leitmedien mit transatlantischen Lobbynetzwerken reißt nicht ab. Detailliert äußert sich zu den Vorwürfen nun auch der Außenpolitikchef der Süddeutschen Zeitung, Stefan Kornelius. Stimmen aus der Medienwissenschaft kritisieren seine Stellungnahme. Auch die kürzlich erfolgte Umstellung der Leserforen bei der Süddeutschen sorgt für Kritik.

Der ehemalige "Tagesschau"-Redakteur, Publizist und Autor Volker Bräutigam hat beim Rundfunkrat des NDR Beschwerde wegen der desinformierenden Berichterstattung über die Festnahme von Nato-Militärbeobachtern in der Ukraine eingereicht. Die Redaktion ARD-aktuell mit Sitz in Hamburg behaupte den Tatsachen widersprechend, die Gefangenen seien Teilnehmer einer "OSZE-Mission" gewesen. Bräutigam sieht in der von Berichterstattung einen Verstoß gegen die Bestimmungen des Staatsvertrages des Norddeutschen Rundfunks, vor allem gegen den Programmauftrag ("objektiver und umfassender Überblick"), die Programmgrundsätze ("internationale Verständigung fördern, für die Friedenssicherung eintreten") sowie die Programmgestaltung ("zur Wahrheit verpflichtet", "sachlich und umfassend zu unterrichten"). Nach der „geistig moralischen“ Wende mit Helmut Kohl, ab September 1982, wurden dann Milliarden (von 10 Milliarden war die Rede) an öffentlichen Geldern für die Verkabelung und für die Propaganda zugunsten der Kommerzialisierung des Fernsehens freigegeben und zugleich – auch unter dem massiven Druck der privaten Printmedien – die politischen Entscheidungen getroffen, die wirkmächtige öffentliche Meinungsbildung über das Fernsehen dem (Werbe-)Markt zu überlassen. Woran schon Konrad Adenauer am Bundesverfassungsgericht scheiterte, nämlich ein „Adenauer-Fernsehen“ einzuführen, hat dann – mit der Vermehrung der Übertragungsmöglichkeiten über Kabel – Leo Kirch zusammen mit seinem Freund Helmut Kohl durchgesetzt: Die Hofberichterstattung für die CDU im Fernsehen. As the machinery for a U.S.-led military intervention in Syria gathers pace following last week’s chemical weapons attack, the U.S. and its allies may be targeting the wrong culprit. Interviews with people in Damascus and Ghouta, a suburb of the Syrian capital, where the humanitarian agency Doctors Without Borders said at least 355 people had died last week from what it believed to be a neurotoxic agent, appear to indicate as much. However, from numerous interviews with doctors, Ghouta residents, rebel fighters and their families, a different picture emerges. Many believe that certain rebels received chemical weapons via the Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and were responsible for carrying out the dealing gas attack. “My son came to me two weeks ago asking what I thought the weapons were that he had been asked to carry,” said Abu Abdel-Moneim, the father of a rebel fighting to unseat Assad, who lives in Ghouta. Abdel-Moneim said his son and 12 other rebels were killed inside of a tunnel used to store weapons provided by a Saudi militant, known as Abu Ayesha, who was leading a fighting battalion. The father described the weapons as having a “tube-like structure” while others were like a “huge gas bottle.” Ghouta townspeople said the rebels were using mosques and private houses to sleep while storing their weapons in tunnels. “They didn’t tell us what these arms were or how to use them,” complained a female fighter named ‘K.’ “We didn’t know they were chemical weapons. We never imagined they were chemical weapons.”

So behält ZDF-Intendant Thomas Bellut die Gehälter seiner Fernsehmoderatoren weiterhin lieber für sich. „Würden wir das veröffentlichen, gäbe es sofort Neiddebatten, die sehr heftig werden könnten“, sagte er der „Zeit“. Seiner Meinung nach haben „auch gut bezahlte Menschen ein Recht, geschützt zu werden“. Bellut fürchtet sich nach eignen Angaben vor Zuschriften von Zuschauern, in denen stehen könnte: „Der kriegt von mir Gebührengelder, ich mag den aber gar nicht.“ Und wenn er nicht mehr fähig wäre, eine „bestimmte Summe“ zu zahlen, verlöre er die Chance, „die Besten“ zu seinem Sender zu holen.

The Obama White House's extreme fixation on secrecy is shaped by a bizarre paradox. One the one hand, the current administration has prosecuted double the number of whistleblowers – government employees who leak classified information showing high-level official wrongdoing – than all previous administrations combined. But at the very same time that they invoke broad secrecy claims to shield their conduct from outside scrutiny, it is Obama officials themselves who have continuously and quite selectively leaked information about these same programs to the US media. Indeed, the high publicity-value New York Times scoops of the past two weeks about covert national security programs have come substantially from Obama aides themselves.

Like Kony, the government of Uganda was also indicted by the International Criminal Court in 2005, for human rights abuses and looting in the DRC Congo. Like Kony, the Ugandan army preys upon civilians and is currently accused, by Western human rights groups, with raping and looting in the DRC Congo, where it is hunting for Kony. In the late 1990s, Uganda helped spark a conflict in DRC Congo that, by the middle of the next decade it is estimated, had killed up to 5.4 million civilians, more than any conflict since World War Two.

The country's largest Internet service providers haven't given up on the idea of becoming copyright cops. Last July, Comcast, Cablevision, Verizon, Time Warner Cable and other bandwidth providers announced that they had agreed to adopt policies designed to discourage customers from illegally downloading music, movies and software. Since then, the ISPs have been very quiet about their antipiracy measures. But during a panel discussion before a gathering of U.S. publishers here today, Cary Sherman, CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America, said most of the participating ISPs are on track to begin implementing the program by July 12. "Each ISP has to develop their infrastructure for automating the system," Sherman said. They need this "for establishing the database so they can keep track of repeat infringers, so they know that this is the first notice or the third notice. Every ISP has to do it differently depending on the architecture of its particular network. Some are nearing completion and others are a little further from completion."

These sites will never appear in search results. That's the whole site, not just the pages from the site with infringing content. And this is not a court process, it's a notification system allowing studios to tell search engines directly who the bad guys are. A white-list of "approved" online music and film services will be artificially promoted for music/film oriented searches."

Fefe ist alles was wir an der BILD verachtenswert finden und er benutzt den Einfluss den wir ihm über Jahre als Leserschaft gegeben haben jetzt willkürlich.

The Syrian National Council - based in North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member countries Turkey and France - enthusiastically supported it. It's telling that Syria's neighbor Lebanon did not. When the over 160 monitors, after one month of enquiries, issued their report ... surprise! The report did not follow the official GCC line - which is that the "evil" Bashar al-Assad government is indiscriminately, and unilaterally, killing its own people, and so regime change is in order. ... The report is adamant. There was no organized, lethal repression by the Syrian government against peaceful protesters. Instead, the report points to shady armed gangs as responsible for hundreds of deaths among Syrian civilians, and over one thousand among the Syrian army, using lethal tactics such as bombing of civilian buses, bombing of trains carrying diesel oil, bombing of police buses and bombing of bridges and pipelines.
